How Far?
Regardless of the size of aircraft being considered, most jets cruise at comparable speeds, averaging 500 mph.
Private jets have the ability to be flexible in their routing and are rarely put into holding patterns, as they often utilise local and regional airports, close to the clients actual destination. So published scheduled flight times between destinations can often be improved upon.
Each journey time will therefore depend upon a number of factors and vary accordingly, however the image opposite provides an approximate guide to journey times.
Aircraft are designed to fly for a particular journey length. Some aircraft can only fly for around 1½ hours, others can fly for over 11 hours. In turn this is directly linked to the appointments and space inside the aircraft. The image opposite gives a general indication of the typical range associated with each aircraft group.
Such requirements are identified in the "Why Charter?" section.
It is very difficult to give an average cost for chartering a private jet as, by its very nature, chartering a jet is an individually tailored operation with widely varying requirements and similarly widely varying costs.
